3 Must try hairstyles for long hair

January 11, 2017

The past year I have been experimenting a lot with hair colours, be it global permanent or temporary. But when it comes to the hair length I have played safe, but that hasn't kept me away from experimenting with hairdos. I like to make sure my hairstyle is appropriate to my face cut and looks trendy, making me feel good and positive about myself. A haircut and the hair products you use can make a vast difference to the health of your hair and your overall look, and goes miles in helping you be presentable, not just for work, but also for a party! There are a lot of easy hairstyles for long hair which I usually experiment with. When it comes to a short bob or simply chopping off your hair, it can be quite a risk for most of us girls! I mean, let’s face it, most of us love our long locks and the kind of variety it brings with it :) There are a lot of things, which you can try out with medium to long length hair. So lets start the new year by trying out a few styles with the help of BBLUNT products. These products are great for me as they are especially designed to suit Indian hair types and Indian weather, and makes styling at home a piece of cake.

The first hairdo is the simplest one that I came across, but surprised me the most by far as it happened to change my look drastically. I have friends who have told me so many times that they wanted a fringe but could not get one done for fear of a hairstyle going wrong. It’s a commitment I wasn’t willing to make. You don't want a bad hair day lasting for months, after all! I came across this BBLUNT Fringe Straight Fringe Clip-On Hair Extension. I chose Natural Brown as it was a simple camouflage with my current hair colour, but this extension comes in 2 more shades. This product has clips on its lower side, which will finally be placed and secured on the crown. I have shown in the pictures how I went about the same and it was a great style for my face. I liked my hair open after the clip on but chose to tie a high ponytail, which gave it a classier look.

All you have to do is first create a centre parting and comb the hair away from your face. Then place the fringe attachment onto your forehead allowing the ends of the fringe to meet the eyebrows. Secure the fringe using the clips. This fringe changed my entire look instantly and looks so much fun and chic at the same time. Do let me know how you like this fringe look!

The second hairstyle is a topknot. A topknot is something every girl, whether into fashion or not, has tried at some point in life. This means business. It means I'm ready to slay, watch out! It is empowering and dynamic. I used the BBLUNT Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-In Cream on my damp hair, from mid-lengths to ends. This leave-in cream is my must-have as it makes my hair frizz-free and helps giving it a sleek and neater look by taming the flyaways. The product is extremely easy to use and it will be seconds before you do away with frizzy hair problems which most of us face, living in a city as hot and humid as Mumbai. What makes it even better is that this cream protects my hair against heat styling and environment damage.

All I did here to make the topknot was to pull all of my hair high up in a tight ponytail secured with an elastic band. Then I divided the ponytail into two parts, and starting at the base of the ponytail, wrap each part around the other part, moving in a circular fashion around the base. Once you’re done, secure the bun with bobby pins.

I also tried another product by BBLUNT called the BBLUNT Spotlight Hair Polish for my last hairstyle which gives your hair a glossy shine. I recreated our old school braids look with a new twist.  I started with parting my hair from the centre, making two sections; one on each side. Then I French braided both the sides starting from the front. I braided it halfway and secured the rest of the hair with a rubber band, making it look like two pony tails with the top of the head braided. I sprayed Spotlight, which is also a spray-on serum, on the final look which gave it a gleam and an instant shine, so it made me look and feel so good that it instantly reflected on my face.
